Srixon Order of Merit
The McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour has created a season-long Order of Merit, under the sponsorship of Srixon Golf Canada. Players can earn ranking points at every Tour stop that accumulate throughout the year. There are three Age Groups for boys and one for girls. Champions for each group will be announced at the conclusion of the Tour Championship at Wolf Creek Golf Resort on August 25th.
ORDER OF MERIT 2008
1. Ranking Points will be awarded at each Tour event in four categories:
• Junior Boys born in 1989/90/91
• Junior Boys born in 1992/93
• Junior Boys born in 1994 and later.
• Junior Girls.
2. Points will be awarded in each category at every Tour event according to this formula.
• First Place 100 Points
• Second 60
• Third 40
• Fourth 30
• Fifth 20
• Sixth 10
• Ranking Points are doubled at the Tour Championship.
Players tied for placings will have the appropriate ranking points split accordingly. For example, two players tied for joint 2nd and 3rd would each receive 50 ranking points ( 60 + 40= 100 / 2 = 50 )
3. There is no limit as to the number of events in which a competitor may earn points. The season-ending Category Winners will be determined by the TOTAL number of points the competitor earns over the course of the Tour schedule.
